Drop-Off and Pick-Up
The first weeks of school can be challenging as all of us get into new routines. In addition, all students are on the same schedule for the first three weeks until we start divided opening, so we have all 660 student arriving at 8:30 a.m. until September 6th.
Please remind your child about the place you will meet and have them work with you to remember it. If the students know where they will meet you and can communicate it to their teachers and/or the office staff, it will make things better for everyone.
Thank you for working with us as we begin another
good year together!

Important First Week Reminders
Hello Roosevelt Families…
Well, we all made it through the first day! Hopefully everyone came home smiling and not too sweaty!
We want to make sure that everyone is clear on the PICK-UP policy for all students so we avoid any confusion and fear among parents and students.
PLEASE TALK WITH YOUR CHILD ABOUT WHERE YOU WILL PICK THEM UP EACH DAY.
If you use the Avon gate for drop-offs and pick-ups (the preferred location as the safer, valet zone will start up in a couple of weeks) please tell your child that is where you will pick them up every day. If you decide the Cordova gate/front of school (kids should not enter at front door unless they arrive after gate closes) is better for you, again make sure your child knows this plan. Please share your plan with anyone who will be picking them up and please remain consistent with this so they are not confused. Please also encourage them to remain near a Yard Supervisor until they are picked up. If you call the office to change a pick-up plan, we cannot always guarantee that the info will be conveyed in time and this could lead to confusion.
After Labor Day, Late Bird drop-off/pick-up instructions will be provided.
For this first week only, we also want make sure everyone knows that parents can WALK ONTO PLAYGROUND with their students until their teacher takes them into the classroom, and then parents will need to exit the playground. Offer your hugs and kisses, tell them you’ll see them after school at the gate you’ve previously arranged, and then they’re off (and so are you!)
One final reminder…TUESDAYS ARE ALWAYS SHORTENED DAYS!! Grades 1 and 2 dismiss at 1:30 p.m. (for these first 3 weeks, until Early/Late Bird starts) and grades 3 through 5 dismiss at 2:10 p.m. all year. TK & K do not have any changes to their schedule. Please be on time to pick up your students.
Thank you for your support. We look forward to a GREAT year!
Another School Year, Another Show!
Hello Roosevelt families! It’s a new school year and we’re already at work on this year's Roosevelt Music Revue! We've got a great team of co-producers this year with Anna Zielinski, Julie Hall, Leigh Reason and Shari Vanole. We have many others already signed up to work behind the scenes including Nicole Kvarda, Kristie Smith, Barbara Roy and Greg Lastrapes. But we need many more folks to help!
This amazing show is a fundraiser for our PTA. If you want to know more such as theme, dates, volunteer opportunities, etc., come to our first meeting on Tuesday, October 4th at 2:30 p.m. Location will be announced closer to the date.
